1993

The 1993 Show was expanded to the "Saskatchewan Oil & Gas Show" to acknowledge the growing importance of Natural Gas to the Industry. The Show was a sellout and proved again to be an unqualified success for the exhibitors, the sponsors, the seminar participants and the company personnel who attended the Show.

 The Saskatchewan Oilman of the Year Award was presented to Mr. Rick Hayward. President and owner of Bigsky Drilling Ltd.  Rick's company has taken the technology developed in the horizontal well area and applied it in a commercial way to southeastern Saskatchewan, where he has drilled over 100 horizontal wells of all configurations.  

The Hall of Fame Inductees were Mr. Don Barkwell of Norcen Energy and of Poco Petroleum Ltd, Mr. Bill Dutton of Upton Resources, Mr. Jerry Gossard of the Department of Energy & Mines, Mr. Gerry Maier of Trans Canada Pipe, Mr. George Grant of Chevron Canada Resources, Mr. George McLeod of Geolock Resources Ltd, and Mr. Don Seaman of Bow Valley Resources.

A new award the Southeast Saskatchewan Oilman of the Year Award, was presented to Mr. Jerry Mainil of Jerry Mainil Limited/Caprice Resources.
